Ship Rock is the remnant of an eroded volcanic vent and rises 483 m above the plain around it. The rock is steep and sharp-edged and thus already quite impressive. What makes the area unique, however, are the three dykes that emanate from the former volcano and look like vertical, extremely narrow and high walls.
